What is behavioral health?
Behavioral health is mental health. Just as healthy bodies are important, healthy minds are important. Our physical and mental health interact and impact each other. A person may need assistance with mental health due to an acute situation that has increased anxiety or depression. They may look for assistance due to an ongoing problem with attention/focus or more serious concerns.
Serene Waters Mental Heath Clinic
We currently have three providers offering behavioral health services at Serene Waters, Lucy Fisher, MD; Donna Rollins, MSN, PMHNP-BC and Vicki Jackson, MSW, LCSW.
Your first appointment will usually be about 1 ½ hours long in which your symptoms will be assessed. The time is taken to listen to what you are experiencing and how it is impacting your life so that the correct diagnosis and treatment can be planned. This is a collaborative process. Your input and preferences are very important. Treatment options are discussed including medication, therapy and other behavioral options. If medication is chosen as part of an appropriate treatment plan you will be seen on a regular basis until tolerance and dose is determined. Then appointments can occur every 3-4 months or longer intervals. Therapy along with medication may be the most ideal. Therapy is available at our office or with other qualified therapists in town. Regardless of where therapy is obtained we want what is the best fit for you. All visits and information are confidential and only shared with your other health care providers with your permission.
Our goal is to help you live to your potential, utilizing your strengths.
We are now offering appointments at our Behavioral Health Services Clinic, Serene Waters Mental Health, located at 4135 Hohe Street in Homer.
