Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy
We consider it an honor and privilege to be of service and hope for a long and mutually satisfying relationship.
Our goal is to provide quality individualized medical care in a timely manner. “No-shows” and late cancellations inconvenience those individuals who need access to medical care in a timely manner.
We do understand that there may be extenuating circumstances; however, we request that any cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment be made at least 24 hours in advance. We value your time and hope that you value ours. Missed appointments or appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance affect us all and prevent us from being able to serve others in need. Because of this, we have created a cancellation and missed appointment policy outlined here.
If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, we request that you call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give another person the possibility to have access to timely medical care.
How to cancel your appointment:
To cancel appointments, please call 907-235-8586. If you do not reach the receptionist, you may leave a detailed message on our voicemail. If you would like to reschedule your appointment, please leave your phone number. We will return your call and give you the next available appointment time.
No Show Policy:
A “no-show” is someone who misses an appointment without cancelling it in an adequate manner. A failure to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in your medical record as a “no-show”.
- First no-show appointment: will be noted in your record and you will receive a phone call of concern
- Second no-show appointment: you will be required to make the next appointment in person
- Third no-show appointment: you will be required to make the next appointment in person and pay a $20 cash non-refundable service charge
- Fourth no-show appointment: you will be considered for discharge from Homer Medical Center
We provide reminder calls before your appointment as a courtesy. You are responsible for remembering scheduled appointments. Stating that you did not receive a reminder call or that the call was made after the 24-hour deadline, does not make your missed or cancelled appointment an exception. We appreciate your consideration of our time and express the same consideration for yours.
