Lisa Milam, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Board Certified Adult-Gerontology, Acute Care Nurse practitioner from Charlottesville, Va. New to the Nurse Practitioner role, but has come from Virginia Commonwealth University’s 28 bed Medical Respiratory Intensive Care Unit in Richmond, VA. She was a staff nurse then Senior Clinical Coordinator for almost nine years, collaborating with a large interdisciplinary team. She obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice last May with her scholarly project of ‘Inter-professional Simulation and Improvement in Teamwork, Collaboration, and Communication.”
Lisa was born in California but has spent most of her life in Oregon and Virginia. She has been married to David for 16 years and has 3 children- Emily (14), Bethany (11), and Silas (8). They moved to Homer last August for her husband to study at the Alaska Bible Institute.
