Tamara Shrader, ACNP

Tammie was raised in Flagstaff, AZ, and graduated with degrees in Biological Science from Colorado State University, Bachelor of Nursing from Idaho State University, and Master of Nursing Science from St. Louis University. Her interest in medicine started at an early age, from Candy-striper in the ER to Intermediate EMT.

Board certified as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), she has also worked many years as an ICU travel nurse, initially learning those skills at Alaska Native Medical Center.

She started her Alaskan journey working at a fish cannery/cold storage and in logging camps, eventually making her way to the back deck of a fishing boat. Commercial fishing remained a livelihood for many years, from San Francisco Bay to Togiak, AK.

When not in the clinic, you may find her skiing, hiking, biking, traveling, or spending time with her beloved niece and nephew in California.
